The state fire marshal’s office is investigating a bottle bomb which was detonated in a mailbox at a Bel Air home Wednesday night.
Authorities said the device went off shortly after 6 p.m. at a home on North Atwood Road in Bel Air. The bottle bomb was placed in a mailbox attached to the front of the home.
Firefighters were not called to the scene and no damage was reported, but state fire marshal’s investigators and members of the Bel Air Police Department were on scene for about two hours.
