The Havre de Grace City Council will discuss the contracts of three city department heads during its Monday night meeting. The discussion, which will be conducted in a closed session out of view of the public, will include the contracts city Director of Planning Neal Mills, Director of Finance George DeHority, and Police Chief Teresa Walter.
Also Monday night, Mayor Wayne Dougherty is expected to introduce a Personal Property Tax Credit Program and the city council will vote on approval of a city Revitalization and Development (RAD) Revolving Loan for Mary Martin Ltd, operating as Antiques Postcards and Supplies at 230 North Washington Street.
The city council will also vote on entering into license agreements with a property at 500 North Union Avenue, which is requesting a new ground monument sign in place of the existing Legion Square pole sign, and a property at 608 S. Union Ave, which is requesting a free standing sign permit to be installed on existing posts from a previous sign.
The dates and times of the special events to be held in the city in 2012 will also be approved Monday night and includie the Havre de Grace Arts Commission Arts Ball on January 28, 2012 from 7:30 p.m. to midnight; the Women’s 5K by the Bay on April 15, 2012 at 8 a.m.; the Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway River Sweep on April 21, 2012; the Havre de Grace Arts Commission Friday Concerts in the Park on Fridays in June and July of 2012; the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum Decoy and Wildlife Festival on May 4-6th 2012; the Havre de Grace Methodist Church 2nd Annual Blessings of the Animals and Pet Expo on September 9, 2012; the Havre de Grace Arts Commission 23rd Annual Children’s Arts Festival on September 8, 2012; and the American Legion Post 47 Car Show Fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project on June 23, 2012.
Students of the Month Paige Aldenberg of Meadowvale Elementary School, Kayla Sumpter of Havre de Grace Elementary School, Alyssa Coutts of Havre de Grace Middle School, and Brad Davidson of Havre de Grace High School will also be recognized.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
