From Harford County government:
Four members of the Harford County Division of Emergency Operations (EOC) have been named Employees of the Month for November 2011. Rick Ayers, Emergency Manager, Linda Ploener, Emergency Planner, Susan Ayers, Administrative Assistant and Brian Bauer, Homeland Security Coordinator, were nominated by the Manager Emergency Operations Brian Feist.
The nomination praised the four employees for going “above and beyond” when faced with an earthquake in August, followed shortly thereafter by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. Under the leadership of Rick Ayers, the four team members worked tirelessly in assessing the impact of the three natural disasters to Harford County, and maintained constant communication with the Office of the County Executive and department heads of county government; the City of Aberdeen, the Town of Bel Air and City of Havre de Grace. Additionally the four exemplary employees worked to constantly update and inform the citizens of Harford County during the three events, as well as state and federal agencies.
Emergency Manager Ayers has been employed with Harford County Government for 26 years, Linda Ploener for eight years, Susan Ayers for 19 years and Brian Bauer was hired earlier this year.
Commenting on the selection of Rick Ayers, Linda Ploener, Susan Ayers and Brian Bauer as “Employees of the Month for November 2011”, County Executive David R. Craig stated, “Harford County is fortunate to have one of the best Emergency Management teams in the state. I congratulate these distinguished employees for their outstanding service during the most difficult of situations.”
