Harford County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating two shootings which occurred in the last three days, one in Edgewood Monday afternoon which sent a man to Shock Trauma in critical condition, and another in Aberdeen Saturday in which a South Carolina man visiting relatives for a funeral was shot in the arm.
Police said deputies responded to a call about a shooting which occurred Monday at approximately 4:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood. The victim, a 22-year-old Edgewood male, had been shot in the torso.
The victim was transported to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police and was listed in critical condition late Monday night, according to Harford County Sheriff’s Office Monica Worrell. A suspect has been identified, and the shooting does not appear to have been a random act of violence.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Chris Sergent of the Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5428.
Meanwhile, on Saturday at approximately 2:20 p.m., deputies responded to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for a report of a shooting. Police said the victim, Christopher Graham, 21, of Manning, S.C., had been shot in the arm in front of the VFW hall in the 200 block of Spesutia Road in Aberdeen while visiting relatives for a funeral.
Graham was transported from UCMC to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for his injuries, but has since been released and has returned to South Carolina.
Worrell said the shooting also does not appear to be a random act of violence, but said Graham and witnesses to the incident have been uncooperative during the investigation. Worrell said it is not clear whether a suspect in the shooting and Graham had prior knowledge of each other before the shooting occurred.
Anyone with information about the Aberdeen incident is encouraged to contact Detective Andrew Lane of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office at 410-836-5431.

Apparently if all the shootings are not random acts of violence, it’s all good, according to Jesse Bane. A shooting is a shooting, a crime is a crime, yet every press release Bane has, states that these are not random acts of violence. Get a clue Bane.
Kharn says
It only counts if taxpayers are involved. Uncooperative witnesses do not help the situation and lead one to conclude they’re planning something illegal as retribution.

What can the Sheriff do to prevent me from walking out of my house and shooting someone? I don’t always agree with how things are done in Harford county but please explain to me how this is the Sheriff’s fault?
I speculate that Bane is referring to the fact that this was not an innocent home owner that fell victim to the bullet, but maybe someone who was associating with the wrong types of people. The areas these shootings took place in have always been this way, before Bane, and will continue to be that way after he’s gone. Focus the blame on the community, or maybe the people actually committing the crime for once.

BPB, Just sayin is one of the individuals trying to get Gahler elected Sheriff in the next election. He and others of his ilk, have made numerous claims about Bane, including charging him with fraud. Yet, all they do is burn up this site. Many of them claim to be law enforcement officers, and yet do not go to the States Attorney or the Federal authorities. Thank you for calling them out.
Bobbie P says
I read the article above and did not see where Sheriff Bane made any reference or comment regarding the incident.
For FAIR. How do you know ‘Just Sayin’ is working to get Mr. Gahler elected Sheriff? Do you know the real identity of ‘Just Sayin’?

Bobbie P: Bane spoke via his spokesperson/puppet Monica Worrell

Bane made an official statement some time ago that drugs and violence are not connected in any way. Obviously, current crime trends and data from every other agency in the country speak differently, but he refuses to believe this is fact and often diverts resources because of this belief. It’s no wonder this stuff is becoming more common.
BPB says
RANDOMPOSTER1- If that statement was indeed made by any law enforcement officer in any capacity, then they should be removed from position immediately. I find it hard to believe that would actually come from the Sheriff so if you could back that quote up I’d be more inclined to see your point.
That being said, dissemination of resources can be tricky issue. I don’t have any statistics so I can only go off of personal opinion, but to me it seems that this type of thing isn’t really any more common than it has been. It seems to get reported faster thanks to multiple media outlets such as sites like this. Remember when the only way you could get this info was on Tuesday and Thursday when the Aegis came out? If it wasn’t front page you would have to flip through until you reached the police blotter. Now you can go to the “Sirens” page and it’s right in your face. This is just my opinion, not really interested in a statistics battle but I’d like to compare crime rates per capita over the last 10 years. I doubt it would be that different in comparison to population and police patrol activity in that area.

I’ll check with the folks on the inside and see if it was in writing or just verbally given to them, but it specifically revolved around a unit that had obvious overlap in its cases (violence and drugs) and was ordered (as it was relayed) that violence and drugs don’t go together to stop messing (interpretation) with drugs.

What’s new Edgewood od and Aberdeen has always had problems,If you live in these towns you don’t walk w/o something on you. The crimes haven’t stopped. In fact they have gotten worse over the years now you have the bloods,’ crips and a new one G-BOOM. Hell the older people are afraid to walk in the town of Aberdeen esp in the afternoon, and eve. The mow their yards in mid-morning, or do their shopping, or Dr’s because of the trouble teens, young adults gettin in gangs. must prof their selves to get in. So No Aberdeen
nor Edgewood has gotten better its scary you never know if you will make it home when you go out walking that’s a bad , sad. Feeling!!!
BPB says
What are you talking about? It’s really not that serious. I was just out in Aberdeen. There’s about 1,000 people standing in line at Rita’s, trust me they do not look terrified. Also there isn’t exactly a whole lot going on in downtown Aberdeen. Johnson Pharmacy, Post Office, Franks Pizza and Scoops. I suppose those are all prime targets for gang activity? Maybe you should stop taking your walks on post road, baldwin manor, and Washington park!
