From the Dublin Darlington Recreation Council:
The Dublin Country Fair is nearly here! The 17th Annual Dublin Country Fair will be held on the grounds of Dublin Elementary School located at 1527 Whiteford Road Saturday, May 5, rain or shine.
The day starts with a parade at 10:00 am. The parade features fire trucks and emergency equipment from area volunteer fire companies.
There will be plenty of antique and muscle cars along with tractors, marching units and floats. This year’s Grand Marshal is Jane Howe. Since moving to Darlington in 1993, she has taken an extremely active role in her community. The Fair begins at 11:00 AM after the parade and runs until 3:00 PM. There will be craft and food vendors along with free entertainment at the band shell.
All proceeds from the Dublin Country Fair benefit a scholarship fund for local students. This year, eighteen students will receive awards totaling $4,500. The Fair is sponsored by the Dublin Darlington Rec Council and is free and open to the public. It features fun for families with a baby contest, kid’s games and even an opportunity to meet the Lords and Ladies of the Shire of Chesapeake, a medieval recreation education group.
