Human Resources’ Griffith, Kelly Named April Harford County Government Employees of the Month

From Harford County Government:

(Bel Air, MD) – Beth Griffith, Benefits Manager and Vanessa Kelly, Human Resources Analyst have been named Employee of the Month for April 2012. Both employees were nominated by Scott T. Gibson, Director of Human Resources.

Griffith and Kelly have worked 19 and 12 years respectively for Harford County Government, all of which with the Department of Human Resources.

In his nomination of his two employees, Mr. Gibson stated, “Ours is a small department so when co-workers are out of the office for a couple of weeks, it greatly affects the workplace”.

Gibson when on to state in his nomination, “While Beth was recuperating at home after a procedure, she was answering employees’ questions regarding their sick leave benefits, and helping to ease the minds of other regarding benefit coverage, healthcare bills, etc.”. Gibson added, “Vanessa is one member of the three member recruitment team. Unfortunately, both of Vanessa’s co-workers were out on emergency leave at the same time. Vanessa held things together for nearly four weeks. Without her energy, patience and determination, this office would have been in a real bind”.

Commenting on the selection of Beth Griffith and Vanessa Kelly as Employee of the Month for April, County Executive Craig remarked, “I applaud the efforts of both Beth and Vanessa during very challenging times in the Department of Human Resources. Without question, both Beth and Vanessa went “above and beyond” their normal duties while working selflessly to support other employees,” Craig stated.
