“SMART METERS”
There have been a lot of questions about smart meters and whether there is an option to reject them. Del. Pat McDonough co-sponsored legislation during the 2012 session of the Maryland General Assembly that would have provided that option to consumers. However the bill failed in committee by heavy lobbying by special interests. The People’s Council will be presenting a case before the Maryland Public Service Commission on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10 A.M.; Public Service Commission, 6 St. Paul Street 16th Floor Hearing Room, Baltimore, MD 21202
The purpose of the hearing is to provide consumers the right to reject the smart meter. It is very important that you contact the Public Service Commission to express your support for the People’s Council’s position and your right to opt-out of the program if you are so inclined. (Bel Air, MD) – The Harford County Department of Public Works has announced the temporary road closure of Patterson Mill Road from Wheel Road to Gillingham Drive. The closure will last approximately 15 days effective May 16, 2012 to allow for road construction work to be completed. This is in anticipation to the future closing of Wheel Road for major repair.
