An Edgewood apartment complex suffered an estimated $10,000 in damage Wednesday morning after a fire broke out on the second floor.
Just after 4 a.m. Wednesday, a fire was reported at a three-story wood framed apartment building owned by Woodbridge Commons in the 1300 block of Gold Meadow Way in Edgewood.
The fire was discovered in the interior of a second floor apartment by occupants of the apartment building. Ten firefighters from Joppa-Magnolia, Aberdeen Proving Ground and Abingdon responded and had the fire under control within 15 minutes.
The preliminary cause of the fire, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office was “incendiary with multiple points of origin.”
Smoke alarms and sprinkler systems were present and activated during the fire, which was estimated to have caused $10,000 in damage to the structure.
