From the Aberdeen Police Department:
At about 7:45 a.m. on June 4, officers responded to the area of Hickory Drive and MD. Rt 715 to investigation a suspicious man walking in the area who was reported to be bleeding from his head.
Prior to officers arrival, a call was received reporting a motor vehicle crash in the area. Officers arrived and found Bobby R Cornett, 50, of the 3300 block of Churchville Rd. walking in the area, Cornett was suffering from a head injury.
Investigation revealed that Cornett was driving a 1997 Ford pickup north bound on Rt. 715. The vehicle approached a dead end, struck a curb and guardrail and became airborne. The vehicle came to rest upside down approximately 70 foot down a steep embankment. Cornett was able to extricate himself and find help.
Cornett was airlifted to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center by Maryland State Police Helicopter. He is expected to be released later today. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The Aberdeen Fire Department and Harford County Technical Rescue Team assisted the Aberdeen Police.
