From the Havre de Grace Police Department:
On 9/9/2012 at 8:24 a.m., officers of the Havre de Grace Police Department were dispatched to Jean S. Roberts Park, 600 block of Water Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland in reference to a body that was found floating in the shallow shoreline of the Susquehanna River by a citizen. The body was recovered from the water by members of the Maryland Natural Resources Police and the Susquehanna Hose Company.
The person has been identified as Robert Drake II, 24 years old, of the 1st block of Red Toad Road, North East, Maryland. Family members were filing a missing persons report at the police station at the same time the body was being recovered. Mr. Drake was last seen in the Havre de Grace area on Friday September 7th, around 11:30 p.m.
At this very early stage in the investigation there would appear to be no immediate evidence of any foul play. With that said, our officers will still conduct a very thorough investigation in order to identify the circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident. Mr. Drake’s body has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.
