From Harford Community College:
Harford Community College Library and the Hays-Heighe House are presenting two events in honor of Constitution Day. The events, which will be held on September 17 and 24, are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
W.B. Allen, Ph.D., will present “The New Constitution: Promise and Fulfillment” on September 17 in the Chesapeake Center Dining Room North, from 6:30-8 p.m., on the Harford Community College campus. Dr. Allen is Professor Emeritus at Michigan State University and author of The Federalist Papers: A Commentary. His presentation is held in part to support the War of 1812: Bicentennial Observance Exhibit. His talk will also focus on the ideals of the Constitution during the time of the War of 1812.
Dr. Allen will lead the September Salon at Hays-Heighe on September 24, from 3:30-5 p.m. in room 201 of the Hays-Heighe House on campus. The salon series is a more intimate discussion based on the American and European tradition of parlor conversations on culture, history, and the arts. Seating for the salon is limited; call 443-412-2495 or email haysheighe@harford.edu for reservations or more information.
These events are also co-sponsored by the Paralegal Students Association, Political Awareness Association, College Life, and the Lyceum.
