EXECUTIVE ORDER 12-08 will go into effect the 17th of February. The order creates a cabinet level department of emergency services with a director to be named and confirmed by the county council in the near future. The department of emergency services will coordinate with and support issues with regard to fire and emergency medical services in the county. The present volunteer system will remain in place as it is serving the needs of the county in an exemplary manner.

JAN 28 PUBLIC HEARING ON FY 14 BUDGET County Executive David Craig will host a public hearing on the FY 14 budget at Aberdeen High School. It will begin at 6 PM This is an opportunity for citizens to tell the County Executive what they expect to be funded and what they do not want funded in the coming budget.
