From Harford Community College:
The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College announces that it is renewing the contract of Harford Community College President Dr. Dennis Golladay for three additional years, beginning August 1, 2013. In addition to the three years, the Board and/or Dr. Golladay may exercise two one-year options by agreement of both parties.
Board Chair Bryan Kelly stated, “The Board of Trustees is delighted to continue our working relationship with Dr. Golladay. In his three years at HCC, he has proven himself to be a successful leader and a great asset to the College and the community. We are pleased with his decision to continue his important work as President of Harford Community College.”
One of Harford’s most significant achievements during Dr. Golladay’s first term as President was that the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) reaffirmed the accreditation of the College. The accreditation process conducted by the Middle States Commission involves a 10-year cycle of review. The College not only received a commendation from MSCHE on the quality of the self-study process, but also is in a select group as only approximately 20% of the MSCHE institutions most recently reaffirmed through the self-study process had no follow-up reporting requirements.
In addition, the Susquehanna Center renovation and expansion was completed during his first three years, and the APG Federal Credit Union Arena opened. Dr. Golladay worked to secure naming rights for the new Arena, and as a result APG Federal Credit Union’s partnership with the College for the arena naming rights will be for an annual contribution of more than $50,000 per year for 15 years. The financial support will fund operations and programming in the arena as well as scholarships for Harford Community College students.
During this time, he also worked with faculty and staff to redesign Harford Community College’s Collegial Governance system that provides structures and processes that allow employees and students to have input into those decisions that will affect them.
“I am pleased to continue my tenure at Harford Community College. This College has strong working relationships in the community, and the community is very supportive of us. We have a tremendous amount of opportunity for developing new programs and partnerships with the public school system and businesses at APG and the surrounding area to meet Maryland’s workforce needs. I look forward to breaking ground on the Towson building and the Nursing and Allied Health building, and seeing both of those projects come to fruition,” said Dr. Golladay.
Dr. Dennis Golladay joined Harford Community College on August 1, 2010.
