From Harford County Council District C Councilman Jim McMahan:
NEWS (special edition)
WINTER STORM MODE (1919 Hrs)
Good evening everyone! The forecasters are still discussing outcomes of this storm that will effect the entire area starting Tuesday night. The Foots Forecast Winter Stormcast Team will be out with a statement later tonight with a more in depth analysis of timing and amounts.
HOWEVER
The NWS(National Weather Service) is leaning towards the worst case scenario with snow beginning around midnight Tuesday and continue through midnight on Wednesday. Therefore, NWS says we could have a 24-hour period of heavy wet snow and the accumulation could be between 6 and 12 inches. Also, from late Wednesday evening through Thursday we should expect wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph. The high temperatures on Thursday will be in the upper 30’s and by Friday will be in the upper 40’s. The best case scenario for Harford County is between 2 and 4 inches of snow; however, as written above NWS is leaning more towards the worst case.
I will up date you on specific details for Harford County as they become available with later analysis. Once this storm does make its appearance on the local scene, I will continue to monitor local conditions and relay any news that affects my constituents. In the mean time polish the sled runners. !!!
