From Harford County Center for the Arts:
Actor/Musican/Author Ronny Cox is coming to town to delight and entertain at 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2013! Right here in Harford County at the Saint Mary Magdalen’s Callahan Center at 1716 Churchville Road in Bel Air. Tickets are on sale now at $20 each at www.HarfordCFA.org.
Recognize him? Of course you do!
Ronny Cox, one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, is often ironically identified with the villains he has played in movies like TOTAL RECALL, ROBOCOP and the ruthless politician in the hit science fiction TV series STARGATE. Ronny’s first film… his first time acting in front of a camera…was as the guitarist in the famous “dueling banjos” scene in DELIVERANCE. His second big film was BOUND FOR GLORY, Hal Ashby’s film about Woody Guthrie.
In fact the year 2012 marked the 40th Anniversary of Deliverance and Ronny celebrated it via his book, “Dueling Banjos: The Deliverance of Drew”.
“I enjoy all kinds of music and I try to bring that eclectic approach to the music I play”, Ronny says. “I’m interested in weaving a tapestry of songs and stories with an over-all arc that eventually comes together and tells us something about ‘the human condition’. I
know that sounds kinda pompous… but that’s what I’m trying to do….. and to have a few laughs along the way.”
Tickets are $20 each and are available on the Center for the Arts website at www.HarfordCFA.org and also on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Harford-County-Events/587309584631779. For additional information or to schedule an interview with Ronny Cox, contact Pam Burns at PamBurns97@gmail.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Center for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to nurturing art, artists, and community by providing a broad range of creative and collaborative experiences through quality arts education, presentations & exhibit in the discipline of music, dance, theatre and the visual, traditional & literary arts.
