From Del. Glen Glass:
I want to thank you for the many emails I have gotten regarding the ridiculous gun grab legislation before the Maryland General Assembly. I also want to thank you for the hundreds of thousands of emails – all opposed, that YOU have rained down on Annapolis.
Because of your opposition, testimony and emails, the Democratic Leadership has begun to work on amendments, amendments to take out the worst parts of this terrible, terrible bill.
Your hard work has given us momentum in the right direction. Democrats are actually speaking with Republicans in a bi-partisan fashion to work with us to fix this terrible bill. Rest assured that I am working hard to strip this sucker down to retain our God given rights.
I firmly believe, in accord with the founders, that our right to own firearms stands next in importance to the constitution itself. Firearms represent our liberty and are the keystone to our independence. I believe that an atmosphere of armed citizenry restrains evil — and deserves a place of honor and respect in our society next to the Constitution itself.
I absolutely uphold the right for individuals to keep and bear arms, a right which antedated the Constitution, and was solemnly confirmed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. I have always supported and defended the law-abiding citizens’ God-given right to gun ownership, because self-defense is the key to maintaining: life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
Your work has given me hope; hope that is hard to find here in Annapolis. I pray every morning for the strength to fight this battle. God has given me this strength and since he will not falter, nor will I.

Lolol… who is this guy? How many times does he imply that God wrote the constitution? Why is he implying that the law is a “gun grab”? Nobody is grabbing anyones gun. Damn fool
Kharn says
Maybe because the Declaration of Independence specifically references rights under God?
“all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,”
The Constitution does not create rights, it recognizes preexisting ones.

Notice what is the most common word in humble friend Glass’ statement – “I”

Money Grab says
Leave the non-existent invisible being out of it.
This is not a gun grab but it is defenitely a money grab combined with a disincentive program to divest people of their constitutional rights.
Adding $400 to the cost of a $200 handgun is only going to encourage a black market. A person in a poor crime ridden neighborhood who wants to buy a $200 gun will soon have to pay $600 under the new laws. Instead of $200 to protect your family you pay $600 or pay $300 for an off the street gun? What do you think will happen?
Stupid ill thought out laws being proposed by stupid self absorbed legislators whose biggest concern is being re-elected by the sheeple.
Stop voting party line ideaology, stop electing the same talking heads, start turning over the office holders and make them accountable instead of invulnerable.

Please! Somebody. Tell Glass that the Second Amendment–indeed the 13th-15th and the 19th are parts of the Constitution, not an entity unto itself.

Ask the thugs if they care if there is a gun ban or not
Brianc says
Of course they don’t. Please tell me how any of the Firearms Safety Act of 2013 regulations will help the inner city, black teenager that just a cap in his arse by a rival drug dealer on the corner in Baltimore City.
Not one of the proposed regulations will!!! They only will make current law-abiding citizens criminals.
It’s criminal control, not gun control…………..
