(Bel Air, MD) – – The 2013 “Caring for Those Who Care” Conference and Resource Fair is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Veronica “Roni” Chenowith Activity Center in Fallston. The event, which is free of charge, is sponsored by the Harford County Geriatric Assistance and Information Network (G.A.I.N.) in cooperation with the Harford County Office on Aging.
The one-day event is focused for those who are or are planning to take care of a loved one.
The program begins at 8:00 a.m. with a light breakfast and concludes at approximately 3:30 p.m. Lunch will also be provided for attendees.
The 2013 Caring for Those Who Care Conference and Resource Fair will offer a number of sessions for the participants including, but not limited to, social security, the ABC’s of Geriatrics, dealing with cognitive deficiencies – hygiene, personalities and more; VA benefits for veterans, dependents and survivors; retiring from driving and Medicaid. A prescription drug take-back will also be available.
The 2013 event will also include health screenings to include blood pressure, prescription review and balance checks.

G.A.I.N. is comprised of individuals, agencies and business that provide products and services for seniors within Harford County. In addition to a venue for networking and education, G.A.I.N. organizes several events designed to benefit seniors within the community. Through fundraising efforts, G.A.I.N. has made significant financial contributions to the Harford County Senior Emergency Fund, Family and Children Services and Harford Community College.
