From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
On Sunday, March 31, 2013, at 12:15pm, Harford County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a domestic disturbance at 815 Chatfield Road in Joppa. Upon arrival deputies made contact with Michael Allen Brandt, 26, and Julia Michele Leonard, 24, regarding a verbal altercation. While in the residence deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana and observed suspected marijuana in the bathroom of the home. Deputies took both suspects into custody.
As a result of further investigation deputies obtained a search and seizure warrant. During the subsequent search deputies seized 8 pounds of marijuana, over $8,000 in cash, indoor growing equipment, equipment and packaging materials, and multiple smoking devices. The marijuana has an estimated street value of $1500 per pound or $32,000 if sold by the ounce.
Both suspects were charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and could face additional charges. Brandt was released after posting a $50,000 bond and Leonard was released after posting a $35,000 bond.
Just glad they didn’t find a grenade launcher like they did a couple of years back in this area. Hazzard county trying to be an upstart Emerald Triangle/Humboldt County CA….
I think that was in Fallston, actually.
I’m so proud of the continued persecution of marijuana, fiercely driving a stake through the heart of this wretched disease on our community. Actually, no, this does nothing but give the local gun clubs a big pat on the back. Pot is not the problem, invasion of privacy is. In this economy, no wonder people go to these measures. If the government had any sense at all they would tax pot not gas. The end of this sick tyranny is near, cops can go back to arresting real criminals, and if said cop is “so” ready to take the fight to the enemy, enlist. Hell, i did, 1st Battalion 6th Marine Regiment 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, Onslow County, Jacksonville, North Carolina. And take your out of shape ass to fucking Afghanistan and get some, leave our citizens alone, we’ll call if we want your help.
A large portion of police officers are veterans. Why dont you sign up for the police or are you unable to pass a background investigation?
Lol you are such a dummy
Prescription and illicit drug use and abuse in this county takes a larger toll on our resources and perpetuates criminal activities to support the acquisition and distribution of these substances. While it would be nice to help the poor little suckers doing these things get the help they need, by and large they are not appealing for help to get off the stuff, they are finding ways to increase their distribution and availability. Even to the point of scamming local addiction centers to providing them with state health care funded access to prescription medications. Yes Law Enforcement spends too much time on this, but if there was no need there would be no supply. And if you aren’t making the effort to curb or eradicate the problem, you are simply endorsing it. Addicts are sneaky creatures, never ever give them cash to pay for their “expenses”, never ever let them bring a small child into a bathroom with them when they take a urine test, never let them bring a purse in there while they are taking a urine test. Simple ideas, but you would be surprised how many centers don’t police their clients who are addicted. And this stuff does more to destroy our future, on a regular daily basis, than any terrorist attack ever will.
