Maryland State Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Investigation into Hit-and-Run Death of Pylesville Man

From the Maryland State Police:

(OAKWOOD, MD) – Maryland State Police investigators are seeking more information as the investigation continues into a fatal hit and run that occurred along Route 1 in Cecil County on July 5, 2013.

The deceased has been identified as Mark T. Grubbs of Pylesville, Md. Grubbs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in determining what occurred on Friday, July 5, 2013 at approximately 2:40 a.m., when troopers from the North East Barrack responded to a reported male lying in the roadway in the area of Sweeny’s Bar. The bar is located in the 100-block of Conowingo Road, Conowingo, Md. The circumstances on how the deceased came to be at that location are still in question.

This road is known to be well traveled and anyone with information is urged to contact Senior Trooper Vogt at 410-996-7800. Investigators currently do not have any description of a vehicle or vehicles involved in the hit and run. They are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Sweeny’s Bar, that night or may have knowledge of what occurred that night to contact them. Callers may remain confidential.
