From the Aberdeen Police Department:
[August 1, 2013- Aberdeen, MD] The man who was shot by police has been released from the hospital and arrested.
Terrance D. Kisto 34, of the 1300 block of Tralee Circle in Aberdeen has been charged with assault first degree, use of a firearm in a violent crime, felon in possession of a firearm, and a controlled substance charge. At the time of the incident Kisto had an outstanding robbery warrant through the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, that warrant has also been served. Kisto is being held at the Harford County Detention Center on no bond.
The officer involved was Thaddeus Tomlinson who has been with the department for just under a year. Tomlinson remains on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
At about 11:34 p.m. on July 29, patrol officers responded to the area of the Economy Inn, 692 South Philadelphia Boulevard to investigate a report of shots fired.
A witness advised a man wearing a baggy gray shirt and blue jeans was shooting a gun in the area of the motel. Arriving officers confronted an individual matching the description near a vehicle parked in the lot of the motel. As officers approached, the subject produced a handgun, one officer fired two rounds from his duty weapon striking the subject once in the upper body. Officers provided first aid until the arrival of paramedics from the Aberdeen Fire Department.
The subject was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to Shock Trauma where he is listed in stable condition. No one else was injured.
