From Citizens for Mike Blizzard:
Frustrated by a lack of solutions from Annapolis and Washington D.C., longtime Harford County resident Mike Blizzard has decided to do something about it and has officially announced his candidacy for the Maryland House of Delegates seat in district 34A.
Mike has worked in higher education for over a decade in Harford County as well being a fixture on the sidelines as a head coach in girl’s basketball programs in high school and the collegiate level. Mike has also been a local business owner in the county giving him a diverse background to head into political service to the Southeastern portion of Harford County.
“We are all about solutions. Most people don’t care where they come from or which party came up with them; they just want solutions to real problems we face”, said Blizzard. “In Maryland we face very serious economic problems. We have an economy that is taxing private citizens and businesses out of the state. The Maryland economy is dependent upon government funded jobs. The problem is government spending cannot continue at this pace for much longer before long overdue necessary cuts in government spending begin to paralyze the states economic viability. We need a strong business climate in Maryland that is competitive with our neighboring states to stop the fleeing of Maryland businesses and entice new company’s to want to relocate in the Free State. I want to work with everyone in Annapolis to seek solutions to our problems without partisan politics hampering our progress. Most people just want solutions wherever they come from. That is who I represent.”
Standing at 6’8”, Mike is asking voters to “Stand Tall” with him in Annapolis running on a formula that inspires every single Marylander to get involved in the process and let your voice be heard in the State House. He hopes to change the way we do politics and hopes that everyone will join him in finding solutions. We owe it to the next generation to leave them the American Dream that we grew up with. It is not too late to change the direction of our state and nation. We have faced deeper troubles in our past and together we have always found a way to come out stronger when we worked together. I want to be part of the solution that brings all of us a future we can look forward to and a past we can look back on proudly.
Mr. Moderate says
I have no clue beyond this Press Release as to who Mr. Blizzard is, his character, what party he presents (not likely a Republican or he would have made that point), or the range and depth of his political positions.
However, it is refreshing to read what a candidate says about himself, as opposed to what he says by way of bashing his opposition.
