From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
On Wednesday August 7, 2013 at approximately 4:45pm, deputies responded to the 100 block of Paradise Rd in Aberdeen for a report of burglary. Deputies made contact with an elderly couple who reported their home had been burglarized at approximately 3:45 that afternoon. The couple told police two males, posing as surveyors, arrived in a newer model large silver pickup truck and knocked on their front door. They stated they were surveying the area and workers would be coming out to mark the lines. One male was approximately 30 years of age, 5’10” with tan skin and dark hair while the other male was approximately 38 years of age, slightly shorter than 5’10” also with tan skin. The suspects engaged the couple in conversation outside the home and then led them to the back of their residence where they continued the conversation. The suspects spoke to them for approximately 30 minutes. After the suspects left and upon returning inside their home they realized the home had been burglarized. The couple discovered potions of the house in disarray and reported cash, personal items and jewelry stolen.
Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Deputies are asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5442.

A year or so ago in the Mars parking lot in Aberdeen just around darkness I notice an older couple being followed a distance behind by a young man…it looked suspicious. As they got in thier car the man knocked on the car window – the older gentleman rolled down the window and right about then I came in view of the “follower”. He made some stupid comment and walked away. I told the older man to be more careful and try to park more near a light and closer to the building – he came very, very close to being robbed.
All the more reason we need conceal carry in Maryland.
The criminals are just that…………..criminals. If they get caught with a gun while committing a crime what is the difference.
The morons in the State of Maryland have effectively disarmed the honest citizen and made us powerless to stop any threat to us by the criminal element.

Starrface, There a lot of good people in that area but unfortunately there is also a bunch of scumbag criminals, of all ethnic persuasions, that need to be run out. I guarantee you that if each of these thugs believed people may have a gun they would change in a hurry. Unfortunately in Maryland our governor and legislature don’t care. They have their bodyguards and concealed carry permits if they want one and they don’t care about you.
Starrface, totally agree, the Rt. 40 corridor should be leveled and relocate the scum back to the city where they came from. That being said, have you noticed that the police blotter for bel air is very close to edgewood as far as calls are concerned, it’s scary, arm yourselves, cant depend on the cops to protect you or your family. Once mass transit or light rail comes to bel air you better get the hell out.

Keep in mind that any area with public water and sewer will be flooded with apartments. So far the boundary has been Bel Air Road. When public water and sewer is pushed westward into Harford County, the mass migration will begin. Once public water and sewer goes in, so too will go the apartments and low income housing. They will keep pushing this boundary in an effort to promote ethnic diversity in neighborhoods as the Democrats don’t believe in the fundamental right to live where you have chosen to based on your success in live but they believe in giving impoverished people a home in your neighborhood because “they deserve to enjoy the fruits of your success too”.

Your first mistake is assuming that blacks and other minorities have a monopoly on crime in this area – the biggest threat is the one that you don’t see. While you are keeping busy worrying about the thugs from the projects, the local pill-popping white trash are outpacing everyone else in crime stats around Bel Air. Out of the three black families on our street, we have a State Trooper, a Sheriff’s Deputy, and a retired Army Soldier. Guess who kept breaking into people’s houses and cars in our community? A young, attractive blonde mom who happens to be addicted to some kind of narcotic, and a mid-30s mom who recently died from complications of Meth addiction. You have to stop assuming that people from the ghetto in Edgewood have a lock on crime in this county. Mostly, they are too busy preying on each other to branch out.
