From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested and charged two men in connection with numerous thefts of air conditioning/heat pump units and commercial grade kitchen equipment from several businesses and homes along the Rt. 40 corridor in Harford County.
Donald James Fruhling, 48, of 1114 Shady Drive, Edgewood and William Antoine Edmonds, 42, of 716 Martin Luther King Blvd, in Baltimore, have each been charged with multiple counts of theft. Deputies began investigating the suspects after receiving complaints from property managers and businesses between November 18th and 22nd who reported thefts of heating and air conditioning units as well as commercial grade kitchen equipment. During that 4-day period deputies took reports from 519, 521, 706 Pulaski Highway and 4017 Philadelphia Road, Abingdon. The estimated value of the thefts totaled over $12,000. Deputies also investigated complaints on Towne Center Drive in Joppa. However the homes there were vacant and deputies need to determine who owns those properties.
Through investigation, and using surveillance videos from the affected businesses, deputies identified Fruhling as a suspect. They found that Fruhling and Edmonds would use Fruhling’s Chevrolet Silverado pick up and, after stealing the units, would take them to various recycling centers and scrap metal yards converting the stolen goods to cash.
On December 5th, both men were arrested without incident at Fruhling’s home on Shady Drive. Fruhling was incarcerated in the Harford County Detention Center in lieu of $7,500 bond. Edmunds, who under the name William Evans, was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from Baltimore City for 4th degree burglary was held on a combined bond total of $15,000.

These two nice fellows look like Fallston residents, they were trying to help the environment and recycle and ended up getting arrested, WTF.

The first recycling center should’ve asked to see their HVAC license and then called the cops when they failed to produce one.
And $12k in HVAC equipment is peanuts.
JohnnyBlueJeans says
So I guess you’re going to fork out the 12k it will cost to replace the units.

No, just pointing out that a condenser isn’t cheap, especially ones sized for commercial buildings.

C’Mon people, cut them some slack. They were just trying to make a few bucks, as their welfare checks hadn’t come in yet and they were out of booze and cigarettes. They also left their 10 free phones home so they couldn’t call their 7 baby mommas to come and help out, which were at the doctor getting their free medical care. Well at least these guys will have a free place to sleep, food, healthcare and social services courtesy of honest, hard working taxpaying citizens.
