(Bel Air, MD) – Harford County Department of Community Services – Office on Aging employee Janet Wright has been named the Harford County Employee of the Month for December 2013. Wright is the Senior Health Insurance Programs Coordinator.
Wright is always eager to handle insurance issues for seniors and people of all ages with Medicare and Medicaid. Her skills do not end with office work. She has also worked with the Department of Community Services to put together an insurance slide show that is used on the county web site.
Janet has held a number of classes on Medicare at various senior centers. She also had displays at various health fairs. She provides information and support to our case managers on behalf of their clients daily. Wright also attends state meetings to keep abreast of any new insurance plans, protocols, or changes so that she may provide her clients and colleagues with the latest updates.
“She has truly gone above and beyond to meet the needs of Harford County’s growing number of clients. It has been my privilege to know and work with this highly dedicated individual,” said Thelma Blake with the Office on Aging. Blake, who nominated Wright for the award, has worked with her for five years.
Congratulations to Ms. Wright. She has assisted me more than once as I worked my way through the insurance/Medicare maze facing my mother-in-law. She was patient, professional, and always took that extra step to be sure that we understood everything completely. She truly is an asset to the citizens of Harford County!
without a doubt, in my opinion, the most proficient, helpful, courteous and well informed County employee I’ve ever dealt with. Janet stepped up when i turned 65 and has been a source of calming ‘information’ throughout the past years. She is straight up with information and recommendations for each of the different situations that come up with folks venturing into the years where we need some guidance and support. “Old age isn’t for sissies,” as the saying by Bette Davis goes, however, with great people like Janet Wright, it makes the journey less fearful and more helpful. She is truly the exact person for the job she holds.
I agree with what everyone has said about Janet, and I am glad that Harford County Government recognizes employees like her. She truly serves all who need her.
