At January’s meeting, we will have 3 “Candidate Speakers”: Art Helton – Maryland Senate; Duvowel Peaker – District E County Council; Jansen Robinson – District A Board of Education. They look forward to answering any questions or comments after they speak about their candidacy.

Funny… I know a girl from a great conservative family in Kingsville that has four children from three different fathers who sells her EBT Card to sustain her recreational drug use that I would gladly deport for a more responsible illegal alien that you despise. Her parents hate Obama and wanted to vote for Romney, the candidate that delighted in exporting American jobs to Chinese Labor Camps because of how cheap they were. Tell me, are you always this blissfully ignorant?
Because you are off the rails.

Because your example is so representative of a demographic that’s not conservative.

If Art Helton is the best the Democrats have, they are really in trouble.
Art Helton has been thrown out of the race for lying about his place of domicile (among other things). Anyone can check out the article here on The Dagger. Of course, Art has the right to appeal, but he’ll just end up spending more of his own money and end up in the same situation. A lie is a lie, no matter how many times it is repeated.
Note: Art Helton is NOT the best that Democrats have to offer. In fact, he is quite the opposite.

That is too funny. I saw the same line used in the Aegis this week in a letter about the Bane-O-Copter. Did you write that too?
Mike Hiob, you do not care about the Democratic Party at all. If you did, you would not have aligned yourself with Fred Simmons and would not have repeatedly campaigned for Nancy Jacobs, a Republican, and Mary-Delany James, a Democrat-In-Name-Only.
With those three strikes, you have pretty much shot yourself in the foot with regard to a political future in Harford County, at least as a Democrat.
And with my understanding, Art Helton can appeal this decision as he has won similar cases in the courts before.
Proud Harford Dem, you do not care about Harford County at all. If you did, you would never support Art Helton for any position. However, since you are a self-proclaimed Democrat and proud of it, there is little hope of you ever becoming sensible enough to realize the error of your ways.
Phil, I always enjoy reading your posts. I realize Helton is a popular guy, especially among the gang he put together to circumvent the “old” Harford Dem Club. But some of them that I have spoken with are truly embarrassed by the actions of the Heltons. And they absolutely know where he lives. There are some really smart folks in that club but certainly not the other two who have chosen to allow their signs and their fates to follow Helton’s illegal campaign down the tube.
“Proud Harford Dem” (a.k.a. Art Helton). As most local folks are aware, I AM a Democrat, and I DO care about the Democratic Party (and the future of it). That’s precisely why I can’t support you Art. You are the past. You are not the future. You are a proven liar. The sooner you are gone (at least from politics), the better for the Democrats in Harford County. If you think that I’m the only former (or currently elected) Democrat representing Harford County that feels this way, well, you’d be more foolish than I already think you are.
And for clarification of your post, I didn’t “align myself with Fred Simmons” (as you said). Rather, I voted with him when I felt (based upon the information that I had) that he was trying to steer our city in the correct direction. Keep in mind that municipal elections (as well at the issues associated with the office) are non-partisan. Also, you claimed that I “repeatedly campaigned for Nancy Jacobs”. That is simply NOT true. I voted for Nancy Jacobs (because she was running against you Art), but I NEVER campaigned for her or contributed to any of her campaigns (feel free to check). I don’t agree with many of her stated positions on a myriad of issues, but at least she’s seems to be honest (which is more that I can say about you Art). You can also check to see who I HAVE supported over the years (financially, and otherwise). And if you did check (which you will have the time to do, as soon as you give up this charade of a campaign that you are currently occupied with), you would see that the VAST majority of those individuals would be Democrats. But I don’t have to prove anything to you Art (or anyone else for that matter). What does matter, is that my family and I know what kind of person I am, and that I don’t need to lie about where I live, or threaten someone that that doesn’t support you or Ann in any given election that you have lost, or even worry about “shooting myself in the foot” when it comes to my political future in Harford County”.
Why? Because “frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!”
Bring on the appeal Art. I welcome it with open arms! 🙂
So, I don’t follow southern harford county politics real close, but after reading this entire post, it seems to me that Art Helton is exactly as Michael G. Hiob describes him (and maybe more).

You should know about lying Mike Hiob. You took the big campaign donations, to sell out Aberdeen and give the developers a free ride, while handing a huge infrastructure bill to the tax payers. That’s why we put you out of office and didn’t vote you in for mayor. It really is pathetic to see you in this state. The only audience you have left, or outlet to spew your venom is here on the Dagger. You have a lot of nerve calling someone a liar. I feel very sorry for your family, they are good people. How embarrassing it must be for them to see you so eaten up with hate!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey “watcher”, You don’t have to “feel sorry for my family”, but you are correct about only one thing, and that is that “they are good people”. Regarding “venom”, since when does telling the truth equal venom? Probably when it doesn’t sit well with YOUR biased agenda. Besides, who gives a shit about the opinion of a fool such as yourself? Is there more than 1 event at the Holiday Inn today? I’m pretty sure I heard on the radio there is a “Work at home” seminar relating to the medical field tonight at the Holiday Inn in Aberdeen?
As President Reagan once said “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party it left me”. Never were truer words spoken. The “D” party at one time stood for hard working, good people who just wanted a fair shake in life. Many conceptual Democrats are good well intended folks who still embrace this belief. It is great to help people but the party does not see or acknowledge the widespread abuse of social programs. Nor do they hold any of the recipients accountable. They just keep handing out cash and other assistance repeatedly with no accountability or time limits. Good much needed housing has been built for needy people and a year later it is a slum with too many of the residents selling drugs and negatively impacting the good people who it was intended for. Go to any convenient store in the proximity of public housing. Watch what happens. All too many people use their independence cards to make what is supposed to be needed purchases. They then reach in to their pockets and pull out a wad of cash which they use to purchase cigar wrappers and “blunts” for smoking marijuana. ( I stopped in the Riverside Sunoco Store for gas and in less than 10 minutes and observed five of the aforementioned purchases.) I am not sure but I don’t think marijuana is cheap. You would think people utilizing public assistance should not be able to afford drugs. I guess what I am trying to say to the Democrats who hand out money like it is water is please be aware of the countless abuses which take place everyday on your and my dime. Help the people that need it and “weed” out the freeloaders and people that feel they are entitled to do whatever they want. If the Democratic party woud hold it’s dependents more accountable maybe the Republicans would be more incline to meet with them half way. Just saying
