(Bel Air, MD) – – The Harford County Department of Community Services is proud to announce Rebecca Jessop as the new Harford County Cultural Arts Board Coordinator.
Jessop discovered the arts in the early nineties. She studied acting and was involved with Baltimore’s thriving community theatres. Jessop worked as the Director of Special Projects for the historic Senator Theatre for 13 years. She was responsible for everything from world premieres to smaller corporate meetings.
She joined Howard Community College-TV in 1996 as a Reporter for the cultural and entertainment news segment, Backstage News. She is co-creator, producer and host of the television show CineMaryland which examines Maryland’s dynamic film industry. She worked as the Media Marketing Specialist for the Mayor’s Office of Cable & Communications. She recently served as the Director of Special Events & Community Outreach for the Center for the Arts. She is also part of the team behind the Town of Bel Air Film Festival.
As the appointed local arts agency within the Harford County Department of Community Services, the Harford County Cultural Arts Board (HCCAB) is the premier local resource for arts, cultural and historical organizations, individual artists and the residents of Harford County, Maryland.
HCCAB provides support to local arts and cultural groups. HCCAB offers several grant programs for local non-profit organizations. The board sponsors workshops, promotional events and produces a calendar of events and quarterly newsletter.
