From the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum Board of Directors:
We are pleased to announce the hiring of our new Executive Director, Emily Hauser. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Cornell University, and holds dual master’s degrees in chemistry and marine science. She has also taught classes at Cecil College and University of Maryland. Emily’s primary responsibilities will be to establish our environmental education and research center, and to develop programs and activities for the Center.
In our previous communications, we indicated that we were seeking funding for our Environmental Center. We are pleased to announce that we have received a second grant from the Crystal Trust (a DuPont family trust) totaling $50,000. Additional grants and funding from the J.M. Huber Corporation, the owners of Stack and Store, Bradley Atlantic, and others, will also be used to finish and equip the existing space for use as the Environmental Center.
We are now designing the Center facilities and determining equipment and other resource needs. A committee of volunteers and professional staff is developing programs for a series of courses, lectures, and activities.
We expect to be officially open the Center sometime this summer.

Why the change. They originally kicked out the boat building school with the intention of making the place go broke because a few of Havre de Graces money man slum lords wanted to make a restaurant out of it. People, organizations and governments should stop bailing out non profits and museums that nobody wants to go to.
