A Bel Air dwelling being used for storage was damaged in an early morning two-alarm fire Saturday, fire officials said.
The fire broke out at approximately 3:49 a.m. Saturday in a one-story building in the 2100 block of Kalmia Road in Bel Air, according to a release from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. A total of 50 firefighters from the Bel Air, Darlington, Level, and Abingdon volunteer fire companies responded and brought the blaze under control in about two hours.
According to fire officials, the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and was being used for storage by the owner. Damage to the building is estimated at $60,000, while damages to its contents are estimated at $30,000. The area of origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
