From Del. Wayne Norman:
The group Maryland Business for Responsive Government (MBRG) honored Delegate Wayne Norman, District 35A, for his efforts in support of Maryland’s small businesses at their annual Roll Call Honoree Reception. Delegate Norman has been selected as one of this year’s ‘John Shaw Award’ recipients. Each year the ‘John Shaw Award’ is presented to Pro-Business Legislators, on both sides of the aisle, who continuously support legislation favoring small businesses and job creation.
“I pride myself on being a Pro-Business Legislator, one of just a few folks who are Business owners in the General Assembly. My business employs nine employees,” said Delegate Norman. Due to Delegate Norman’s 2013 voting record on legislation affecting businesses, the MBRG presented him with a certificate, a lapel pin, support materials for his campaign, and a special recognition in their publication of Roll Call.
John Shaw served his country more than 200 years ago as a legislator in Annapolis, the nation’s capital at the time. This award is presented to those legislators who serve in a manner comparable to that of John Shaw. Delegate Norman was presented with this prestigious award on February 5, 2014.
