From the Aberdeen Lioness Lions Club:
The Aberdeen Lioness Lions Club offers to dress girls for prom night, for free.
The Aberdeen Lioness Lions were justifiably excited over being on WJZ TV on Monday, February 10th. This included live on the 6 am Manic Monday show and then on the 4, 5, and 6 pm news feature shows. The two links below have embedded videos with the live footage and then interviews with 3 of the Lions. They have already gotten calls from several teens from all over Maryland looking to attend the Free Prom Dress Giveaway Events. They are also looking for local businesses as well as the community to donate their new and gently used gowns and prom dresses.
Starting on March 8, the group members take on the role of fairy godmothers, ensuring all girls in the area have the perfect dress for the prom.
So far, the group has collected more than 700 dresses for this year’s prom dress giveaway event, which the group calls Cinderella’s Closet.
“These fairy godmothers know that every girl, no matter how economically challenged, deserves a chance to dance with her prince at the prom,” the Lionesses posted on Facebook.
The Cinderella’s Closet giveaway takes place on the dates listed below, and dresses are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Girls must show identification to be eligible for a dress.
