From TIC Gums:
College-bound students apply scientific principles to create a winning ice cream and marketing campaign
TIC Gums’ annual Ice Cream University will name Harford County Public Schools’ 11th grade team (college-bound students with interests in science, culinary or marketing) as the 2014 winning team whose ice cream is to be sold at the locally owned Broom’s Bloom of Bel Air, MD.
Six sessions are led by TIC Gums and members of the Cornell University Department of Food Science, with the culmination this Saturday at the TIC Gums Texture Innovation Center in White Marsh. The program continues TIC Gums’ commitment to build awareness of the food science career field through education within the community.
Frequently misunderstood and often mistaken for food service, food science incorporates chemistry, physics, biology and fluid dynamics. TIC Gums aims to encourage scientific roles in both the food development and manufacturing industry.
