Baltimore, Md. – Ripken Baseball and Giant Food have partnered to host a series of health & fitness clinics throughout the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. regions. The “Get Out and Play” clinics will combine baseball instruction with nutritional programming to create a fun and informative program for youth and their families. The free clinics begin Monday, May 5 and run through Friday, June 6.
“We are excited to open the 2014 baseball season by partnering with Giant Food to host youth baseball clinics throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Colin Clark, Vice President of Brand Marketing for Ripken Baseball. “We look forward to not only providing kids with the fundamentals of baseball, but also sharing the importance of healthy eating and staying active, the Ripken Way.”
Throughout the communities it serves, Giant Food is committed to being a better neighbor. This includes supporting the health and wellness of local children and families. Giant Food’s “Get Out and Play” clinics encourage children to have fun while being active and learning critical life lessons. The clinics will feature four instructional baseball stations, as well as educational programming focused on healthy eating habits and maintaining a balanced diet.

The Ripken Baseball staff and Giant Food will lead 10 FREE clinics throughout the region. Clinic participation is available to the first 150 children per site, ages 7-12, who register online at www.GiantFoodBaseballClinics.com. Dates and locations include:

• May 8 – Prince William County, Va.
• May 14 – Washington, D.C.

• June 3 – Baltimore, Md.
• June 5 – Aberdeen, Md.
• June 6 – Manassas, Va.
