From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
On October 24th at 12:44 a.m. deputies were called to the 100 block of Waterside Court in Edgewood for a reported assault. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 48-year-old male, no fixed address, with multiple stab wounds and an abrasion on his head. The victim advised deputies he was walking in a wooded area, near that block, when he was struck in the head and stabbed. The suspect then took his wallet.
Deputies canvased the area and with the assistance of a K9 unit were able to locate and apprehend suspect William Poland, a 50-year-old male, no fixed address. Poland was charged with armed robbery, robbery, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment.
The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital in serious but stable condition. Poland is being held in the Harford County Detention Center on no bail.
