From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office are looking for information that may lead to the suspect(s) in an early morning shooting of a 22 year old man in Joppa.
At 1:25 am, Patrol deputies from the Southern Precinct were dispatched to the 400 block of Trimble Road in Joppa for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim identified as Jeremy P. Colgin of the 400 block of Trimble Road. The first deputies on scene assessed Colgin’s injuries and provided first aid. Colgin was found to be suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg; he was transported to a local trauma center by emergency medical providers for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Patrol deputies conducted a thorough canvass of the area, but were not able to locate a suspect(s).
Preliminary investigation indicates that Colgin was struck by a single bullet. A statement from the victim indicates he believes the round may have come from a passing car. Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone seeing suspicious activity in the area, is asked to call Harford County Sheriff’s Office Detective Andrew Lane at 410-836-5431.
