From the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company:
Two girls, ages 16 and 17, were rescued from atop a rock in Winters Run on Thursday afternoon after they were swept away by the current while swimming in the water.
Just before 5:50 pm, emergency personnel were dispatched to Winters Run, near the 2300 block of Winters Run Road, in Joppa where a group of juveniles were swimming and two had been swept downstream.
After being carried away by the water, the girls were able to climb on to a rock, where they shouted for help, leading their friends called 911. Forty-five personnel from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Abingdon Fire Company, and Harford County Technical Rescue Team responded to the emergency call.
The girls were given life jackets to wear and, at 6:30 pm, a TRT member, attached to a rescue rope, entered the water and initiated the rescue. By 6:34 pm, he had pulled both girls safely to shore and was out of the water. The girls were uninjured.

Heck that’s what I usually do after a giant rain storm…heck I dive into fast moving, muddy, deep creeks. We be fairly certain neither of the charming young ladies will be rocket scientists.
Charge their parents for the rescue cost. They obviously raised two dumb helpless girls that dont have any common sense. People need to be held accountable for their stupidity!

@Slow Is As Slow Does & Farmer – People sometimes make mistakes. It does not mean they are lacking common sense or are stupid. Mistakes happen. Accidents happen. Those girls went through a life changing dangerous ordeal and the only thing you guys want to do is criticize and belittle them. Since no one else would do it, the Crusher of Souls has to do it for them. Go F_uck Yourselves, you bunch of hillbilly white trash! You can hold these NUTS accountable for your insensitive remarks……

Good supervision/parenting from Mom and Dad (?) on raising their kids. And Mom and Dad (?) are probably blaming the school system for not educating their kids. SMH.
