The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) -Maryland Chapter is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Celebration of Philanthropy in Harford County which will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the Water’s Edge Events Center in Belcamp, Maryland. The Harford County Celebration of Philanthropy celebrates businesses and individuals whose exceptional generosity demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose example encourages others to be leaders in philanthropy in Harford County. Event Co-Chairs are Caroline Adolph, Senior Relationship Manager at the United Way of Central Maryland, and Jean Brannan, Director of Philanthropy for the Harford Community Action Agency.

Honorees in 2016 were the Women’s Giving Circle of Harford County as Philanthropists of the Year; the Society of Italian American Businessmen as Outstanding Volunteer Fundraisers; The Bayou Restaurant as Outstanding Business Philanthropist and the Unsung Hero Award to Terry Troy. (The Unsung Hero Award is now named the Terry Troy Volunteer Service Award.)
