A lightning strike during a strong storm Thursday afternoon ignited a fire and caused significant damage to a Bel Air home.
Just after 1:30pm Thursday, a fire was reported in the 300 block of South Fountain Green Road in Bel Air. A neighbor discovered the fire in a 16-ft by 20-ft two-car detached garage.
Fifteen firefighters from Abingdon and Bel Air responded and had the fire under control within 10 minutes.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal determined the fire was sparked by a lightning strike and estimated the fire caused $35,000 in damage to the house and an additional $35,000 in damage to its contents.

Is this the fire that a ladder truck arrived at first with no water?
Alfonzo says
No, it was the water truck that arrived with no ladder
Peacekeeper says
Dont be hateful because you decided to take the tower or truck on a smoke outside box(which turned into a working “garage fire”. Poor decision but it is what it is. I just hope it isn’t my house or shed or garage.
Facts says
The ladder truck you are talking about was going to another call off Wheel Rd and pulled up to this fire. Not sure what you are talking about here.

No actually they were enroute to an automatic alarm and noticed the garage fire on the way and alerted dispatch on scene. And an engine was on scene with water within 2 minutes of the alert. So before you bash a company know why they ended up on scene with a truck. They’re not joppa. Guess everyone remembers clover valley when joppa arrived to a working house fire with a truck.
