EDGEWOOD, MD _ Troopers from the Maryland State Police at the Bel Air Barrack “D” are seeking assistance from the public to identify a middle-aged robber who held up a restaurant Tuesday night.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Troopers were called to the Friendly’s restaurant at 1407 Pulaski Highway after a man entered the establishment, implied he was armed with a handgun and demanded cash. The robber fled with a small amount of US currency. No injuries were reported.
The restaurant was open at the time of the holdup. However the suspect, who targeted only the staff, did not disrupt a half-dozen patrons eating in the restaurant’s adjacent dining room.
At the same time Troopers were en route to the restaurant, Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies were responding to the nearby CVS Pharmacy for a similar call. Troopers and Deputies determined the culprit to be the same for both ...Continue Reading
The Greene Turtle on Main Street in Bel Air closed its doors Tuesday after the restaurant felt it was “unlikely” that a new lease agreement could be reached with its landlord.
In a statement to The Dagger, a company spokesman said the Greene Turtle parent company and its Bel Air franchise decided that they would be unable to reach a new lease agreement but hoped to find “a new home.”
“The Bel Air franchisees are committed to The Greene Turtle, having just opened another location in Aberdeen and signed a franchise agreement for Rehoboth Beach, [Del.], and are working closely with [the parent company] to reopen in Bel Air as early as possible,” spokesman Greg Pitkoff said in a statement.
