Nearly A Year Later, Edgewood Melee Suspect Captured In Louisiana

(Harford County, MD – November 3, 2008) – Otis Lavelle Huff, 18, wanted on charges of attempted 1st degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder, assault in the 1st degree, assault in the 2nd degree, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, was arrested on Friday, October 31, 2008 at approximately 8:00 am in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

On Sunday November 25, 2007, shortly after 7:30 p.m. Harford County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1900 block of Eloise Lane, Edgewood, in reference to a disturbance in the area. Deputies located an adult male lying on the ground bleeding from the head and a female juvenile suffering from neck pain. The male victim was subsequently flown to Shock Trauma by the Maryland State Police Medevac Unit where it was later discovered he had been stabbed in the back. The female juvenile was transported by ambulance to Shock Trauma and an adult female victim with facial injuries was transported by ambulance to Franklin Square Hospital.

During the investigation, deputies determined that a large group of males and females went to a house in the 1900 block of Eloise Lane to confront the female resident concerning her relationship with a young male who lives in the area. The adult male victim exited his home and asked the unwanted trespassers to leave his property. The male victim and two family friends were immediately attacked by the above group.

Shortly thereafter, deputies stopped a vehicle a short distance away based on information obtained at the scene of the skirmish. This stop resulted in four arrests and later Otis Lavelle Huff was charged with attempted 1st degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder, assault in the 1st degree, assault in the 2nd degree, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence.

At approximately 8:00 am Friday morning, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Police Department located Otis Huff at a McDonalds in the 5200 block of Florida Boulevard. Huff was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the East Baton Rouge Parrish, Louisiana detention facility on local charges. It is unknown at this time when he will be returned to Harford County.

Two Years After The Attack, Alleged Rape Suspect Arrested In Forest Hill

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN HARFORD COUNTY RAPE - ARREST RESULT OF PERSISTENT INVESTIGATION FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS

(Bel Air, MD) – A persistent State Police investigation of more than two years resulted in the arrest last night of a man for the rape of a Harford County woman that occurred in the spring of 2006.

The accused is identified as Glenn J. Raynor, 39, of the 300-block of Ponfield Road East, Forest Hill, Md. He is charged with first and second degree rape, first and second degree assault, first, third and fourth degree burglary, first and second degree sex offense, sodomy, unnatural and perverted sexual practice, and malicious destruction of property.

Raynor was arrested by State Police from the Bel Air Barracks at his home, just before 8:30 p.m. He was taken to the barracks for processing and then transported to the Harford County central booking center to await an initial appearance before a court commissioner.

At about 5:30 a.m. on April 2, 2006, Maryland State Police were dispatched to the 1600-block of Bramble Court in Bel Air, in response to a report of a rape and burglary. The victim, a woman who was 36-years-old at the time, reported that 30-60 minutes earlier, a man broke into her home and raped her. The Maryland State Police does not identify victims of sexual crimes.

The suspect was described as a white male, wearing khaki shorts and a t-shirt. He was also said to be wearing a tan baseball hat with the logo of the “Portofino Bay Hotel” on it.

A relentless investigation by State Police criminal investigator Trooper First Class Dana Wenger from the Bel Air Barracks continued from the day the rape was reported. In late July 2008, additional information was obtained that led to more interviews and new evidence. In early September, evidence developed in the investigation led to the charges against the accused, after consultation with the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Four Arrested for Car Theft and Burglary

(Abingdon, MD – August 27, 2008) – Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested four juveniles for motor vehicle theft, theft over $500.00, and first degree burglary.

On Sunday August 24, 2008 at approximately 3:15 am, Sheriff’s deputies were called to Laurel Woods Court, Abingdon, MD in reference to four suspects tampering with vehicles in the area. While investigating, deputies determined several items had been stolen from at least one vehicle in the 100 block of Laurel Woods Court.
